Support roller for chain driven vehicles, e.g. excavators

The support roller has cam-type necks (8) engaging in the spaces (10) between the chain links (9). The necks are evenly distributed over the circumference of the roller and are attached by screws (13). The necks may be provided on separate shells which interact with the roller. With a separate shell, the individual shell halves are equipped with radial protrusions interconnected by screws. The number and spacing of the necks conform to the pitch of the corresponding chain.
