The latent heat heating control method of a microwave oven comprises the steps of: judging whether the corresponding cooking is in need of a latent heat heating, if an automatic cooking heating is completed; calculating latent heat heating time based upon a latent heat heating coefficient by preset cooking items and total heating time, in case of the latent heat heating cooking; and displaying the calculated latent heat heating time, and progressing the latent heat heating during the calculated latent heat heating time.
