PURPOSE: To enable a navigation device to be used outside a vehicle by arranging a CD unit for driving a CD-ROM including map information, a display for displaying a map, and an ECU for controlling the whole in an attaching and detaching unit capable of being attached and detached in relation to the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device is constituted of a vehicle side unit 1 and an attaching and detaching unit 2 to be attachably and detachably mounted on it. The vehicle side unit 1 is constituted of a GPS receiver 11, a gyroscope 12, an I/O ECU 13 as a circuit for processing a car speed signal, and a power supply circuit 14. On the other hands, the attaching and detaching unit 2 is constituted of a CD unit 21 for driving a CD-ROM including map information, a liquid crystal display 22 for displaying the map, and a MMECU 20 for controlling the whole. Hereby the navigation is made possible by the GPS receiver 11 and the gyroscope 12, and the attaching and detaching unit 2 can be used by being detached from the vehicle side unit 1. |
