PURPOSE: To apply a metallic feeling, processability and weatherability to a precoat metal panel constituted by successively forming an undercoat layer, an intercoat layer and a topcoat layer on a base panel composed of a metal panel to which surface treatment is applied. CONSTITUTION: An undercoat layer 2 is formed by applying the baking painting of resin paint to a base panel 1. An intercoat layer 3 is formed by applying the baking painting of clear paint of a melamine curable polyester resin compounded with a design effect imparting granular material such as a metal powder or org. colored beads and containing 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. of an ultraviolet absorber per 100 pts.wt. of the solid of the polyester resin to the undercoat layer 2. A topcoat layer 4 is formed by applying the baking painting of clear paint composed of a melamine curable polyester resin and containing 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. of an ultraviolet absorber per 100 pts.wt. of the polyester resin to the intercoat layer 3.
