PURIFICATION OF ORGANOPOLYSILOXANE

摘要

PURPOSE: To purify an organopolysiloxane by effectively reducing volatile low mol.wt. organosiloxanes contained in the equilibrium-polymerized organopolysiloxane under a mild condition. CONSTITUTION: The method for purifying an organopolysiloxane comprises allowing porous inorganic powder (e.g. porous silica powder, porous alumina powder, porous aluminosilicate powder, porous glass powder) having an average fine particle drameter of 1-5000Åto adsorption remove low mol.wt. organosiloxanes contained in the organopolysiloxane produced by an equilibrium polymerization method in the presence of an acidic or basic polymerization catalyst.
