The adjustment system consists of two discs carrying interacting cam elements (46,32) which are shaped as curved ramps. The first set of ramps is mounted on a first, fixed disc (29) and the second set are on a second, rotatable disc (28). A lug (36) on the second disc is connected to a mechanism for turning it. The mechanism includes a tension spring (30) with one end (37) engaging the lug on the movable disc and the other end (52) engaging a notch (54) in a pressure plate (16).
