Disclosed is a rear view mirror that enables the driver a better view with only a slight turn of his/her head. The device comprises a switch(2) that turns on with the reverse selection of gear shift lever(1); a motor(7) that has a gear(8) and that is driven with the switch on; a mirror(4) that is open and closed in a mirror cover(5) with gear teeth that are geared to gear(8) that is rotated by motor(7); a bracket(3) that accommodates the mirror (4) and attached to a C-pillar(6) by snap pin(3a); and an inserting hole(9a) in back panel(9) to adjust the mirror cover(5) vertically. The gear shift to reverse turns the switch on to drive the motor, thereby drive the mirror cover to disclose the mirror. The invention improves safety during rearward driving.
