A dual purpose gasket for EMI shielding and environmental sealing of a PC board is disclosed in the present invention. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, an annular, circumferential gasket includes at least one circumferential notch on its inner surface integrally formed into the gasket. The circumference of the circumferential notch is less than the circumference of the PC board. The circumferential notch mates with perimeter edges of the PC board and securely retains the PC board when the gasket is stretched around the perimeter edges of the PC board and released.
