Bisthiadiazole derivatives of general formula (I) and salts thereof, and disease controlling agents containing the derivatives or the salts as the active ingredients, wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H, C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic group containing 1 to 3 heteroatoms selected from among O, S and N, or the like; X<1> and X<2> are each O or S; Y<1> and Y<2> are each O, S or -N(R<3>)-; and R is C0-C30 alkylene, -(C)a(R<3>)(R<4>)- (wherein R<3> and R<4> are each H, halogeno, OH, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 haloalkyl or the like; and a is 0 to 30), or the like.
