A separator for compressors, which is an oil separator (33) for separating an oil, which flows into a high pressure chamber (21a) from a low pressure chamber (21b) together with a compressed medium, from the compressed medium in a compressor, the oil separator being provided with a network demister (33a) formed by knitting thin metallic wires and comprising surfaces subjected to sandblasting treatment. With such arrangement, even in the case where an HFC refrigerant and an ether oil are combined to be used, an oil separator for compressors is realized which eliminates degradation of an oil separating performance. The demister (33a) is formed by winding a network band (33c) in an annular form after inside and outside surfaces of the band are subjected to sandblasting treatment.
