Deep fat frier

The deep fat frier includes a pot (3) and a basket, which has an attachment (7) to releasably fix the basket to the edge of the frier housing (1). A handle (11) is rotatably fixed to the attachment. The basket can be moved vertically on the attachment between a lowered frying position and a raised drainage position. The handle acts on the basket through a gear arrangement. The gear arrangement is fitted outside the pot and has a flexible connecting component (19), which can be displaced by rotating the handle. The basket (17) is fixed to the connecting component. The gear arrangement is fitted in the handle.
