Run-flat device for automobiles

A device fitted within an automobile tyre (20) consists of an elastomer ring (40) held on the wheel rim (12) to allow it to continue to run whilst deflated, and is increased in mass and size, compared with standard systems, and displaced axially towards the inside of the vehicle. This forms a protection against explosions of a mine set off by the passage of the vehicle wheel (10). Also partial absorption on the shock wave and a partial reflection towards the outside of the vehicle occurs to protect the occupants.
