An apparatus for mixing steam with intake air of an i.c. engine, in order to improve combustion characteristics, comprises a water reservoir, a heater f for turning the water to steam, a first pipe ii, preferably an insulated hose, for conveying the steam which has a regulating unit iii, a second pipe for conveying air which has a further regulating unit iv; both pipes merging to mix the air and steam and leading to an outlet pipe which takes the air/steam mixture to an intake system of an i.c. engine. Optimum results are achieved by controlling the temperature and flow of moisture and directing the air/steam mixture continuously into the combustion chamber. |
