An air conditioner having an inlet sensor sensing the pollution level of the suction air; an outlet sensor of the pollution level of the air exhausted through a filter to outside; a microcomputer outputting filter cleaning control signal when the pollution level of outlet air is higher than pollution level of the inlet air or the value subtract the outlet air pollution level from the inlet air pollution level is less than established value; and a display part displaying to clean the filter by the filter cleaning control signal of the microcomputer by comparing the air pollutions of the inlet sensor and outlet sensor is disclosed. Thereby, it is possible to always present user clean environment by accurately knowing filter cleaning time.
