The trailer consists of a tipping platform (14) to receive the bales from the baler. The platform is articulated at the back end of a chassis (11) and can be tipped about a transverse axis (26) between a horizontal position for loading and an inclined one for discharging. The platform is divided into a central section (14) and two outer sections (15) which can be set vertically when not in use. The central section is equipped with two power-operated hinged shutters (22,23) which can tip a bale received on the central section onto one of the two outer sections. This enables the trailer to carry three bales at a time which can be discharged in groups of three for easier subsequent picking up.
