PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain wiping cloth suitable for a clean room, etc., having water absorption properties equal to or more than those of nonwoven fabric, not causing self-dusting, excellent in chemical resistance, by scouring a specific knitted fabric with a polyoxyalkyl ether compound by using a jet dyeing machine. SOLUTION: A knitted fabric which comprises a filament yarn of synthetic fiber such as polyester yarn having 0.1-2 denier and >=4g/d fiber strength as a constituent material, has 50-300g/m<2> weight and 3-7cm<3> /g bulkiness is scoured with a low foaming scouring agent consisting essentially of a polyoxyalkyl ether compound and caustic soda by using a jet dyeing machine to give the objective wiping cloth having <120 amount of dusts with >=0.5μm particle diameters, >=140 water absorption rate both in the warp and weft directions and >=350wt.% water absorption ratio. |
