PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-soluble lubricant stock solution for capping, capable of producing DI can having high quality and attaining improvement in discharged water treating property. SOLUTION: This water-soluble lubricant stock solution for capping is used in producing DI can by capping a metal plate by using a water-soluble lubricant for capping and then subjecting the capped plate to ironing or re-capping and ironing. In this case, a synthetic ester oil is included therein and average particle diameter of the composition is kept to <=1μm when the composition is diluted with water.
