PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decorative plate obtained by providing a design having high design properties on a decorative plate base material particularly having an uneven shape on its surface and a method for manufacturing the plate provided efficiently with the design. SOLUTION: A water paint layer 3, a transfer design layer and further a surface protective layer as needed are provided on a decorative plate base material 4. The method for manufacturing the plate comprises the steps of coating the base material with water paint, laminating a design surface by using a transfer sheet having a film having degree of saponification of 85 to 98% and a thickness of 20 to 100μm as a base film so as to be brought into contact with the water paint surface before the pain is dried, drying the paint, then releasing the transfer sheet, and further providing a surface protective layer as needed.
