PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow speed change intended by a driver as much as possible by precisely setting prohibition on an up shift or a down shift at manual mode time according to a travel condition of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A manual permission flag FMP is set by referring to a manual permission control map on the basis of a car speed detecting value V and a lateral acceleration detecting value G. Since this manual permission control map is wide in an area to set the manual permission flag FMP to permit a shift to '1', a range to perform shift operation by operation of an up shift switch or a down shift switch by will of a driver increases, and a degree of freedom of maneuvering expands. In this case, since the driver acknowledges behavior of a vehicle by an up shift or a down shift to a certain degree, an automatic transmission can be controlled in a shift condition according to will of the driver while considering maneuvering stability. |
