PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a decalcification-inhibiting agent capable of being used for effectively reducing caries-inducing properties by making caries-inducing food and drink contain the agent, and effective to not only the food and drink including sucrose but also the food and drink not including the sucrose, which has the problem not dissolved by water-insoluble glucan-inhibiting activities. SOLUTION: This decalcification-inhibiting agent is the one for inhibiting the phenomena of hard tissue of teeth being dissolved by an acid, and includes reduction product of isomaltooligosuccharide as an active ingredient. The reduction product of isomaltooligosuccharide consists essentially of the reduction product of disaccharides or trisaccharides of the isomaltooligosuccharide as the main active ingredient, preferably the decalcification-inhibiting agent includes >=20% reduction product of the disaccharides of the isomaltooligosuccharide and/or >=20% reduction product of the trisaccharides of the isomaltooligosuccharide.
