<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laser welding method by which plasma can be moved without causing a gradient in magnetic flux density. SOLUTION: By approaching a pair of electrods 22 connected to an external power supply 14 to the plasma 8 formed in the vicinity of a laser beam machining part, a current 24 is made to flow through the plasma 8, and a magnetic field 21 is given to the plasma 8 from an outside. Electrons moving in the plasma 8 receive an electromagnetic force, and the plasma 8 is driven in a direction perpendicular to both of the direction of the magnetic field 21 and the direction of the current 24 according to Fleming's left-hand rule. The laser beam 11 is not blocked by the plasma 8, and the melting of an object 1 to be welded by the laser beam 11 is promoted.</p> |
