PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an air purification agent for effectively removing noxious substances in air, particularly aldehydes represented by formaldehyde by depositing an amine compound on the surface of an whitish porous substance. SOLUTION: Although no particular restrictions are applied to a porous substance as far as its surface is almost white and an amine compound carried thereon is not modified, and its specific surface area is large (for example, approximately 250m<2> /g or more) and its adsorption power is high, an incombustible substance is preferred in consideration of the case of using the same combinedly with a building material or an electric appliance. For example, zeolite, active alumina, diatom earth, silica gel or the like can be used, and among other things, silica gel is preferred from the viewpoints of supporting strongly the amine compound on the surface by the presence of silanol and not liberating easily the amine compound carried thereon. As for the amine compound, although no particular restrictions are applied as far as it is a nitrogen containing compound, primary to tertiary organic amines or amine silanes are preferred.
|
