<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gas adsorbent utilizing a metal complex of a porphyrin compound provided with a selective gas adsorption function. SOLUTION: A gas adsorbent is composed of a porous substance carrying a metal complex of a porphyrin compound. As the porous substance, a laminar silica porous body of a honeycomb porous structure composed of a plurality of plate-shaped sheet layers of crystalline laminar silicate, in which the width of interlaminar sections between the above-referred adjoining sheet layers is contracted on the bonding points of siloxane bonds and expanded between the bonding points to form pores, is used, and the content of alkali metallic ions contained in the above-referred crystalline laminar silicate is 0.2wt.% and the specific surface area of 1,000m<2> /g or more, is used suitably.</p> |
