PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cement admixture, comprising a polyvinyl alcohol based polymer having a specific solubility (hereinafter referred to as PVA-based polymer) and capable of providing a composition, excellent in bending strength, compressive strength, abrasion resistance, etc., and especially improved in bending strength. SOLUTION: This cement admixture is a PVA-based polymer having >=60% solubility in a saturated aqueous solution of calcium hydroxide at 40 deg.C. The PVA-based polymer is obtained by the hydrolysis or alcoholysis of, e.g. a polyvinyl ester. The admixture is mixed with a mixture containing a cement and, as necessary, a fine aggregate, a coarse aggregate, etc., added thereto. The amount of the admixture is preferably 0.01-60 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. cement. Thereby, a cement molding product excellent in mechanical strength can be obtained. |
