PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the battery reaction efficiency of positive active material so as to obtain such a battery as being excellent in its discharge performance by increasing the quantity of water-soluble binder, meanwhile decreasing the density of the positive pole mixture. SOLUTION: The core formation density of a positive pole mixture is designated to be 2.9 to 3.1g/cc. This upper limit value is set lower than the conventional maximum limit value. Thereby, gaps among black mix particles are enhanced to increase a liquid absorptive quantity so as to improve discharging characteristics. Meanwhile, when the value decreases downward beyond the lower limit value, a positive pole can becomes liable to be damaged when pressure is applied therein. In addition, an additive amount of water-soluble binder is 0.6 to 1.5wt.% in relation to manganese dioxide. The quantity shows its value more than the conventional maximum limit value. The reason therefor is to secure a core strength 1.4 considered necessary at the fitting of the positive pole black mix. However, when the additive amount exceeds the upper limit of the range, the core makes too much expansion in sucking liquid so that the core can easily come into contact with a gasket. |
