PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device hardly causing toner image turbulence due to that the unfixed toner image comes into contact with a preliminary heating part owing to a recording material deflection, or a recording material is attracted in a transfer part or the like, capable of transporting the recording material while performing excellent transferring and fixing process, and capable of miniaturizing the device in the image forming device provided with the preliminary heating part for the unfixed toner image between the transfer part transferring the toner image on the recording material and the fixing part fixing the unfixed toner image on the recording material. SOLUTION: This device is composed so that the recording material transporting speed A (mm/sec.) on the transfer part T and the recording material transporting speed B (mm/sec.) on the fixing part F satisfy the following relations, A×((-L2 /4)+ L0 -L1 )/(L0 -L1 )<=B<=A×(3+L0 -L1 )(L0 -L1 ). Where, L0 is the maximum transporting direction length (mm) of the adopted recording material, L1 is the distance (mm) between the transferring part and fixing part, L2 is the distance (mm) between the recording material transporting path on the position P on the upstream side by a specific space and the preliminary heating part 943a in the vertical direction to transporting path surface, and the condition of L0 >L1 is satisfied.
