PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the dew condensation on a dust cover glass by forming the coating film which is transparent and water-repellent. SOLUTION: A mirror 11 deflects the laser light beams passed a BTL lens 6 and guides the beams to a dust cover glass 7 side. A dust cover 13 covers a frame 12. The frame 12 is provided with a polygonal mirror 1, a polygonal motor 2, a laser light source 3, a cylindrical lens 4, an fθlens 5, a BTL lens 6, a synchronization detecting mirror 8, a synchronization detecting sensor 9 and a mirror 11. An opening section 12a is formed on the frame 12 to emit the laser light beam passed various optical systems in the frame 12. The dust cover glass is mounted on the section 12A. A coating is provided on the front surface of the glass or both the front and the back surfaces of the glass. Any of the water-repellent coatings are used provided that the transmissivity of the glass is not degraded. Thus, a stable electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive body.
