PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject gene useful for mass-producing an α-1,6- fucosyltransferase, derived from a human and useful for saccharide chain structural analysis, a reagent for saccharide chain engineering, a diagnostic agent, etc. SOLUTION: This α-1,6-fucosyltransferase gene derived from a human is a gene capable of coding an α-1,6-fucosyltransferase derived from the human and comprises a gene capable of coding, e.g. an amino acid sequence represented by the formula. The gene is obtained by singly purifying the α-1,6- fucosyltransferase from a cultured cell having the α-1,6-fusocyltransferase activities, e.g. a human gastric cancer cell, analyzing the amino acids of a protein thereof and carrying out the cloning on the basis of the partial amino acid sequence. |
