PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen gas generator which is capable of efficiently electrolyzing water and adequately producing hydrogen gas for fuel having a high purity, facilitates miniaturization and allows easy adjustment of the amt. of the hydrogen gas to be generated. SOLUTION: This hydrogen gas generator 1 has a electrolytic section 2 and a tank section 3 and yields the hydrogen gas by electrolyzing the water. In such a case, the generator has >=3 sheets of electrolytic plates 4. These electrolytic plates are respectively superposed on each other via insulating gaskets 13, by which a superposed body is formed. The electrolytic plates and the insulating gaskets are brought into pressurized contact with each other. The insulating gaskets are provided with liquid pooling holes and electrolytic chambers 16 consisting of the front surfaces of the electrolytic plates and the inside walls of the liquid passing holes are formed within the superposed body. The water in the electrolytic chambers is movable through the inside of the liquid pooling holes to the adjacent electrolytic chambers. The hydrogen gas generated in the electrolytic chambers is movable through the vent holes disposed at the electrolytic plates is movable to the adjacent electrolytic chambers. |
