<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new adsorbent for preparing concentrated oxygen gas of superior nitrogen gas adsorption properties at a low cost and also provide an air preparation process using the adsorbent, particularly the air separation process by the PSA process. SOLUTION: An air separation adsorbent composed of crystalline faujasite type zeolite having the SiO2 /Al2 O3 molar ratio of 2.0 or more to 5.0 or less and containing megnesium cation and/or barium cation of 1% or more to 10% or less and sodium cation of 1% or more to 10% or less contained as essential cationic seeds and, as other exchange cations, lithium cation of 5% or more to 95% or less and strontium cation and/or calcium cation of 5% or more to 95% or less is used, and air is brought into contact with the adsorbent to adsorb selectively nitrogen gas in the air to prepare concentrated oxygen gas. Particularly nitrogen gas in the air is adsorbed selectively by the pressure shaking apparatus method to prepare the concentrated oxygen gas.</p> |
