<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air cleaner without any mechanical equipment for cleaning air by accommodating a plant-supporting member into a vase that consists of a perforated burnt substance occupying the surface layer, by which plants are supported, demonstrating an excellent absorption/removal function against specific harmful gas and offensive odor. SOLUTION: This air cleaner/consists of a vase 2, a plant support member 3 burnt to be filled into the vase, and plants 4 held by this plant support member. The plants 4 are inoculated and infected with a VA-germ root bacterium, whose roots 5 and the VA-germ root bacterium are living under a symbiotic relationship. The harmful gases 7 running around by the indoor air current are all absorbed and removed out by them wherever they pass through and contact with the plants 4 and their support member 3, thus cleaning the air. The plant support member 3 is preferable to have an ability of absorbing the harmful gases and in addition, the plant support member 3, preferably, has sufficient moisture reguired for the growth of plants 4, perforation, rigidity and is also water, soluble with proper pH. The plants 4 are preferable to be eucommiales belonging to the eucommeales family.</p> |
