RESIN COMPOSITION AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyphenylene ether resin composition having high and balanced flame-retardance and/or heat-resistance and impact resistance. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) 80-98 pts.wt. of a polyphenylene ether resin, (B) 2-20 pts.wt. of a hydrogenated block copolymer containing 10-40wt.% of a vinyl aromatic compound having a number - average molecular weight of∞15,000 and (C) 0.1-30 pts.wt. (based on 1.00 ptswt. of A+B) of a phosphoric acid ester compound and/or an ethylenic unsaturated compound. The matrix phase of the composition is the polyphenylene ether resin and the dispersed phase is the component B having a circle-equivalent average particle diameter of 0.08-2.0μm.
