PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic body having the required photocatalytic ability even when the entire photocatalyst cannot be irradiated with UV and to provide a photocatalytic filter using the photocatalytic body, a photocatalytic device, an air conditioner, an air cleaner and an air circulator. SOLUTION: Photocatalyst granules 2 and light scattering granules 3 are dispersed in a UV transmitting carrier 1 to obtain the objective photocatalytic body. A sintered compact of silica may be used as the carrier 1. Granules of a metal, aluminum oxide, yttrium oxide or silicon dioxide may be used as the light scattering granules 2. The carrier itself may be used as a structure and it is formed, e.g. in a honeycomb shape to obtain the objective photocatalytic filter. This filter is combined with a light source to obtain the objective photocatalytic device.
