PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject adduct for flame retardant of epoxy resin for printed circuit boards, free from bromine giving harmful influence upon environment by combustion by mixing a bisepoxy compound with a specific phosphorus- based guanamine. SOLUTION: This adduct is obtained by melting and condensing a bisepoxy compound (e.g. bisphenol A-diglycidyl ether) with a phosphorus-based guanamine represented by the formula [X is CR3 R4 -(CR1 R2 )n -CR5 R6 (R1 to R6 are each H, methyl or ethyl; (n) is 0 or 1) or ortho-phenylidene: R7 and R8 are each H, methyl or ethly] [e.g. (5,5-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,3,2-dioxaphosphorinanyl)-ethyl- guanamine] in 0.60-0.35 molar ratio of phosphorus-based guanamine/bisepoxide in the presence or absence of a solvent. The adduct is used for production of synthetic substances, especially printed circuit boards, etc.
