摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption efficiency by increasing the frequency of lean burn running during the running of a vehicle in a hybrid vehicle which is provided with an engine and an electric motor as an power source used for the running of the vehicle, and has an engine control means which facilitates the lean burn running where the engine is actuated at an air-fuel ratio larger than a theoretical air-fuel ratio. SOLUTION: In the case where a vehicle is judged to be in the course of lean burn running(step SA2), since torque assistance for the lean burn running larger than in the case of normal running is carried out by an electric motor(step SA5), the shortage of torque becomes difficult to happen even at the time of the lean burn running, and frequency at which the engine is actuated near the theoretical air-fuel ratio and run in order to avoid the shortage of torque due to the lean burn running can be controlled lower, and fuel consumption efficiency can therefore be further improved.
