<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume and solidify shredder dust of a scrap automobile or the like, stabilize lead by mixing uniformly a chelating agent when the lead adheres lightweight materials in the shredder dust, prevent the lead from eluting as lead ions into rainwater or the like and reduce the use amount of use of the chelating agent. SOLUTION: While shredder dust containing plastic introduced from an introduction opening 11a on one end of a narrow and long casing 11 is carried by helical bodies 14, 14', 17 and 17' installed on rotating shafts 12 and 13 set in the longitudinal direction leading to a take-out opening 11a on the other end and rotated thereon, crushing, kneading, compressing and pulverizing are carried out in the casing 11, and the shredder dust is melted by the heat generated by friction and compression and then reduced in its volume and solidified by the drying and extruding operations after melting. During the process, the water solution of a chelating agent to be compounded with lead is introduced into the casing 11 and reacted to stabilize the lead and prevent the lead from eluting into water.</p> |
