PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of monitoring a heat-exchange of a wire-saw with the capability of positively detecting a foul state of the heat-exchanger. SOLUTION: When the heat-exchanger 42 is in a normal state, slurry (wording liquid) 36 passed through the heat-exchanger 42 is cooled to a predetermined temperature after the heat-exchange done by the heat-exchanger 42. However, in the event when any abnormality exists in the heat-exchanger 42, the temperature of the slurry 36 to be outputted becomes higher than in a normal state. On the basis of this, the slurry 36 at a predetermined temperature and a predetermined flow rate is passed through the heat-exchanger 42 for measuring the temperature of the slurry 36 before and after the heat-exchanger. When the difference between the temperatures is lower than a reference value set previously, the heat-exchanger 42 is determined as being abnormal. Thus, a proper timing of cleaning and inspection can be determined for the heat-exchanger 42. |
