PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and satisfactorily introduce oxygen into an RE-Ba-Cu-O type bulk oxide and to impart satisfactory superconducting characteristics even to the bulk oxide by previously piercing pores in the interior of the bulk oxide. SOLUTION: When oxygen is introduced into a melted and grown REBa2 Cu3 Oy type bulk oxide (RE is preferably one or more kinds of La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Y, Er and Yb) to form a superconductor by oxygen annealing, the specific surface area of the bulk oxide is previously increased by piercing pores in the interior of the bulk oxide. The pores are preferably pierced in a direction perpendicular to the ab face of each 1.2.3 type crystal. The pref. diameter of the pores is 0.01-2.0mm and the pref, volume of the pores in the bulk oxide is 0.1-20%. |
