Disclosed is a manual shift lever of variable length for the driver to conveniently make gear selection in accordance with his/her physique. The device comprises a shift lever(100) with an upper lever(10), lower lever(20), guide(16) and feeders(12,14); upper lever(10) that is separated from the shift lever(100) and inserted into lower lever(20); a guide groove(18) in the grip(10-1); a hole in one end of a slot in the middle; and circular selection holes(22,24,26,28) in lower lever(20). The invention provides drivers with convenient gear selection by lengthening or shortening the shift lever to the desired length.
