Streptomyces sp. Y9342 (KTCC10815) capable of producing M-1,3 glucanase is isolated from the soil sample taken in the surface of unplowed land and cultured in Czapek-dox midium containg insoluble glucan as the only carbon source at 30deg.C for 2 days. The enzyme obtained is used for the prevention and treatment of dental careis.
