Safety valve for water heater

The valve (2) has a casing (4) with an outlet (10) connected to a used water tank and with an air guard (10) mounted on the outlet. The air guard is not formed in a single piece with the siphon. Alternatively, the air guard can be moulded together with the body of the siphon. The air guard and the siphon body can have a coupling (26) for fixing to the outlet of the valve and at least one opening (28) formed at the level of the coupling and open to the free air inside the siphon body. Vent openings are provided at the same height as the coupling but on an opposed face.
