The tiered seating is made up of trusses, side and rear safety rails, hand rails and planking for stairs and seating. These are reinforced by tubes, U-shaped metal bars, weld beads and angle ties. The side safety rails (3) are reinforced with vertical tubes (8) which are joined to vertical tubes (9) in the trusses of the frame. They are fixed together using a bolt (10). The rear safety rail (4) is reinforced along the top rail (13) by covering it with a U-shaped section (14) fixed with bolts which pass through the ends of the rail and the existing bars. The reinforcement is calculated to absorb a horizontal load at the level of the planking on the last row of seats. This is achieved by soldering an additional tube to sections which are not adequate. Additional tubes may be added to make the seating easier to stack. Angle plates are also soldered in position.
