The connector assembly includes an insulation housing (4) through which one or more terminal reception cavities (6) extend over a terminal reception face (8) as far as a coupling face (10). One or more electrical terminals (12) can be mounted in the cavities. The housing and the terminals have elements (16,22) for primary retention which fit together so as to keep the terminals inside the cavities (6). The connector has also flexible secondary locking tongues (28) which are formed from a single piece with the housing. If the terminals (12) are incorrectly inserted in the cavities, the secondary tongues (28) are pushed into the probe reception cavities (50) so as to permit the detection of an incomplete insertion.
