Half-opening sliding roof for automobiles

The roof comprises a panel (1) which covers a roof opening (3). A mechanism (4) in the opening enables the panel to be half opened and to slide. Outside the roof opening edge is a second mechanism (6) comprising a rod (7) able to move between a folded down position on the roof and a raised position. The rod upper edge is supported under the panel to sustain it in a half open position beyond the travel of sliding permitted by the first mechanism. The rod comprises a first end part articulated in a fixed part relative to the roof. Its second end has a runner (8) which is supported under the panel. The runner is held and slides in a rail fixed to the panel. The rod is connected to a lever extending between an articulation, located near to the opening edge (5) and fixed relative to the roof, and an articulation on the rod. This latter articulation is guided in an elongated opening in the rod.
