The controller is designed to drop the temperatures of cooling and freezing compartments rapidly to enhance the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator. The controller includes a freezing compartment inlet hole formed in a heat-insulating partition wall for guiding the cooling air returning to the evaporator side after cooling the cooling and freezing compartments, a guider formed in the entrance of the cooling compartment inlet hole, a cooling air controlling board associated to the guider and making a horizontal motion, and a control knob formed over the cooling air controlling board.
