PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the use efficiency of a fertilizer component effective for plants, to increase the crop yield of agricultural products even when the amt. of the effective nitrogen fertilizer component is same, and to enable fertilization with good influences on the growth of plants by allowing a coated fertilizer containing at least one of urea-form nitrogen and ammonia-form nitrogen as the effective component, and a nitrification suppressing agent to be present at one time in a plant root area. SOLUTION: The coated fertilizer consists of a granular fertilizer coated with a coating material and it has 2 to 30 wt.% coating rate. As for the fertilizer component, at least one of urea-form nitrogen and ammonia-form nitrogen is required, and a required component for plants such as nitric acid-form nitrogen can be added. The applied amt. of the fertilizer is 5 to 20000 g/a in terms of the amt. of the effective nitrogen fertilizer component. As for the nitrification suppressing agent, for example, N-2,5-dichlorophenylsuccinamide acid is added by 0.1 to 5 wt.%. The fertilizer is applied in such a manner that the weight ratio of the nitrification suppressing component to the amt. of the effective nitrogen fertilizer component ranges 1:1 to 1:10000 in the plant root area. |
