PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit excellent effects in water resistance and color developing properties when a paper is used as an inkjet printing paper by coating the surface of the paper with a polymer contg. specified amidine group and dimethylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide deriv. structural unit. SOLUTION: The surface of a paper is modified by coating the surface of the paper with a polymer contg. an amidine group of formula I or formula II and a dimethylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide deriv. structural unit of formula III [wherein X<-> is a counter anion and R1 and R2 are each hydrogen or methyl group]. In this case, it is pref. that a polymer contg. 3-50 mol.% amidine group and 25-75 mol.% structural unit of the formula III is applied. In addition, the ratio of incorporation of the structural unit of the formula III, being dimethylaminopropyl(meth)acrylamide deriv. structure is pref. 20-80 mol.%. |
