In a process for machining sheet metal parts (14) in a bending cell (10) of a bending centre, the sheet metal parts are successively transported from an insertion area to the bending cell. They are taken up by a first manipulator (32) of a manipulator device in a transfer position (130) and then set on a bending edge (16) to be subjected to at least one bending process. In order to optimise this process, each ready bent sheet metal part is carried away after the last bending process from an end bending position (132). While one sheet metal part is bent, the next sheet metal part is transported from the insertion area to a transfer position which does not overlap with the end bending position, and is positioned to be gripped by the first manipulator. The first manipulator starts to transfer the following sheet metal part to the transfer position while the ready bent sheet metal part is leaving the end bending position. |
