An pneumatic cushion has a tube (2) made of a strengthened elastic material. The tube ends are pushed against the adjacent component (1) by a sprung metal hoop (3). That part of the hoop in contact with the tube (2) bears a thickening (4) of an elastomer. The hoop (3) and thickening (4) form a component which is separate from the hoop (2).
