The engine includes lift elements (22) supported on a lift ring (24) which comprises two or more individual rings (28) which fit into each other without play. The neutral bending fibre of the lift ring does not run on one of the boundary faces (29) between the individual rings. The rings (28) can be arranged in succession in the radial extension of the lift ring. The boundary faces (29) run concentric with the outer and inner wall of the lift ring and relative to each other. The individual rings can be made of a uniform material. At least one of the facing walls of the individual rings has a wear-resistant coating.
